When I was growing up, I used to love watching and helping my mum bake (ie sieving and stirring, licking the bowl, staring at the oven, demanding she turn out the cake IMMEDIATELY, grabbing fistfuls of cookies and running off with dog trailing behind…ahhh fun times). I left home to study in America and then work in England. I guess tough times calls for tough measures and one can only eat a certain amount of frozen food before breaking down and calling home to ask how one tells when water is boiled and grimacing when touching raw meat while wearing gloves…
I would like to think that I’ve improved from serving up instant noodles (with instant soup) to my roommates to dishing up something a little more edible, healthier and less processed but I know there is still lots of room for improvement. Most of my cooking and baking skills come from memories of helping my mum.
I started this blog as a collection of what I’ve baked and cooked. I hope to inspire everyone who come across this blog as I have been inspired by the amazing bakers and blogs around me too. Join me as I learn to bake, pipe, frost, cook and broaden my culinary horizons!
